I grew up in the charming village of Haarlem, where the only job opportunities were on farms – but that life was not for me. After finishing high school in George, I moved to Cape Town to live with my family. I soon found myself immersed in the world of hospitality. Starting in the 80’s, I worked my way up through various positions in hotels, learning about the diverse cultures and nationalities of our guests.
I discovered my passion for brightening people’s days and making them smile during their stay. This ignited my dream to travel and experience being a guest in a hotel for myself. As fate would have it, I transitioned into working with tour operators, contributing to two vastly different companies – one German and one Indian.
I eventually found my place at Springbok Atlas. The welcoming family atmosphere and hardworking colleagues helped me persevere, and I knew this was where I belonged.
When I’m not working, you can find me exploring adventurous hobbies like motorbike rides and camping or simply enjoying the company of loved ones.
