What an experience it was to stay at the Mkhaya Game Reserve’s Stone Camp in Swaziland. The adventure begins from the moment you park your vehicle at the reception area and jump onto the open game-drive vehicle with your ranger, overnight bag in hand, making your way through the reserve and stopping at the sight of wildlife. There is no electricity at this camp, so a bushveld fairytale awaits with lanterns lighting the way as you arrive. And the best part of it all is your room—open-sided, thatched, en-suite stone units with mosquito nets covering the beds, leaving you listening to the sounds of nature as you fall asleep. Remember that you will be off the grid for a night, so pack your mobile phone away and enjoy the nature experience.
