The Management Team
Glenn McKeag – CEO
A born and bred Capetonian, Glenn’s passion for Africa and all things Cape Town is contagious. He loves turning people’s travel dreams into a reality and sharing African experiences with people around the world truly fulfils him. He has travelled the globe but his heart has always remained in Africa. Having been in the Travel Industry (and with Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris!) for the past 27 years his passion truly lies with travel and no other career or industry has been worth pursuing.
Giorgi Vass – COO
Having been in the Travel Industry for the past 23 years, Giorgi has really discovered her true passion. Living and working in Italy and the UK for some years, her heart always yearned to be back in Cape Town selling South Africa to people around the globe. She has a soft spot for the Cape Winelands and sharing this love with others around the world inspires her.
Chris lives & loves travel! He has been in the industry for over 20 years and is passionate about all things travel. He has all-round experience in the field, from creating domestic market campaigns to managing intricate Incentive & Special Interest programmes across Southern Africa, and everything in between.
Linda Rademan – Training & Systems Manager
Linda has been part of the Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris family for the better part of 17 years, and in the industry since 1989. It is in her blood and she is passionate about travel; from arranging dream holidays to training consultants on selling Africa. She has a great love for the bush and, since travelling to Namibia, her heart yearns to return there sometime.
Dudu Gumede – Operations Manager
Travel is Dudu’s passion! She has seen all of Europe but there’s no place like home – Africa, a country of warm and loving people. She has been in the industry for 12 years, 9 of which have been with Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris. She loves the African bush and spending time outdoors is her way to relax and unwind.
Patricia Fourie – Operations Manager
In travel terms, Patricia is somewhat of an inbound specialist having been with Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris for over 15 years! Her top African destination is the Timbavati – a place of tranquillity and serene beauty.
André Barnard Jnr – General Manager: Sales
Having grown up in Namibia, it explains why this beautiful country retains its top spot as a travel destination for Andre Jnr. With over 23 years of experience in the tourism and airline industries, he is a familiar face in the industry. He joined Springbok Atlas Namibia in 2003 as head of touring before moving to South Africa as the Divisional Manager for Western Europe. In 2011 he took a hiatus from Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris to join Mantis Collection but rejoined the team early 2015.
Kathryn Monaco – Sales Manager, North America
Kathryn, as the daughter of an airline executive, was bitten by the travel bug at a very young age, and has now been involved in the industry for over 25 years. She loves being able to assist in creating programs and experiences in Southern Africa for people to enjoy a trip of their lifetime. For her, all of Southern Africa has its charm; South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia.
Patrizia Olivadi – Sales Representative, Italy
With 24 years work experience in the tourism industry, Patrizia has had the opportunity to visit many countries around the globe. But from her first visit to Southern Africa she fell in love with this special place with its unforgettable landscape, unbelievable experiences, excellent service and the warm and friendly people. Ever since that visit Patrizia has been recommending this destination to all her clients, friends and family.
Victoria Short – Marketing Manager
Born and brought up in London, Victoria fell in love with Cape Town when visiting her grandparents for Christmas. Years later she moved to Cape Town and joined the travel industry. Twenty years later, twelve of which have been spent with Springbok Atlas, she hasn’t looked back. Victoria has visited some wonderful places in Africa, from Morocco to Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Namibia, but her favourite place is still Cape Town.
Nicole has been working in the travel industry for eight years and absolutely loves it – selling South Africa with its unique and breathtaking beauty is what makes it worth it for her. She – and the company – know what they’re selling and are extremely confident that guests will definitely come back for more…you just can’t get enough! Though a difficult choice, her favourite place in Africa would have to be Tsitsikamma. Tucked between the mountains and the sea with beautiful forests, it is definitely a special place for Nicole.
Lionel joined the travel industry in 2006, having worked his way from a modest travel agency to one of India’s biggest outbound travel companies, SOTC, where he handled Operations for Europe and had the opportunity of travelling the globe. After six years with SOTC Lionel took on his next career change at an incoming DMC in South Africa and at a steady pace grew to handling Key Accounts at the company. He then made his final move to Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris. He loves travelling the world and feels truly lucky that the industry has given him great opportunities to do that! Residing in India and selling all corners of South Africa for the past four years only encourages Lionel to visit South Africa over and over again to enjoy its vast landscape and wildlife along with the beautiful beaches, making this his favourite destination.
Greg from Fork Marketing, a UK-based representation company, joined the Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris team as Sales Representative for the United Kingdom and Ireland markets. Greg has extensive industry contacts and significant experience in the travel trade, marketing and PR. He spent many years working with South Africa, both in Product and Contracts Management roles with UK tour operators and then marketing the destination with his own representation company. Greg has significant travel experience right across Africa as well as a passion for the beautiful continent!
Ted Bussi – South America GSA
Ted has been in the tourism industry for 24 years, particularly on the “Brazil-Africa” route. Initially he worked for Brazilian tour operators, and in the last 15 years has been representing South African DMCs. Throughout this time, he learned to develop his passion for the truly beautiful African continent. Since his first visit to South Africa in 1996, Ted has revisited the country many times, having been in all nine provinces, including the less-visited Free State and Northern Cape. During these years, he took part in many Indaba Tourism Fairs, some as exhibitor, and has accompanied many Brazilian agents and operators on educationals. He never gets tired of seeing the beauty of his favourite place, Cape Town, and feeling its charming atmosphere. Ted has also visited Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Mauritius and Seychelles. And counting…
