The Garden Route – An Eco-destination

The Garden Route – An Eco-destination

The Garden Route is an eco-destination unlike any other in the world. It stretches along the southern Cape coast of South Africa and is a natural “garden” of rich, colourful vistas, valleys and lakes, rivers and forests and has miles and miles of white sandy beaches. The Garden Route is nestled between mountain ranges and a brilliant blue coastline and is an adventure and nature lover’s playground.

It’s no surprise that the Garden Route has captivated anyone who travels along it. It offers an intoxicating mix of encounters and beauty encompassing a full range of activities from horseback safaris and ziplining through indigenous forests to ostrich farm tours and the subterranean world of the Cango Caves.

The Garden Route is home to a series of towns, each with its own unique character. Mossel Bay tempts with its temperate climate and seafood culinary delights, Wilderness inspires with its lush vegetation and water activities, and Knysna is famous for its oysters and leisurely cruises along its lagoon. The Tsitsikamma Park is Africa’s oldest and largest marine reserve and hikers come from all over to experience the rugged and pristine coastline that this area is blessed with.
