With immediate effect, SA Express has been grounded.
The South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) has suspended SA Express’s Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) as well as the certification for an Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO). The findings of SACAA relate to, amongst others, the safety management processes within the airline.
SA Express will, in line with the airline’s compensation policy, accommodate its passengers on other airlines and refund tickets. The next few days will see the SA Express leadership team in conjunction with Minister Pravin Ghordan’s Intervention Team share the stabilisation plans with SACAA. We will keep you updated on all future developments.
