The Green Kalahari is a region of the Northern Cape in South Africa and is a land that has been dubbed as ‘full of wonder’. The Green Kalahari is a land of distinctive contrasts from the pristine semi -desert to the lush vineyards that fill the fertile valleys of the Orange River. This iconic river makes its way through the dry landscape and brings it to life.
The history of this region is tied to the history of its original inhabitants, the San, also known as the Bushmen. They were Southern Africa’s original inhabitants and with ancient knowledge and technique, managed to thrive in this landscape. The Green Kalahari is truly a special place on this earth that connects you to its vastness and liberating open spaces.
It is also home to some of unique species of creatures that include gemsbok, springbok, blue wildebeest, red hartebeest, eland, lion, leopard, cheetah and smaller game.
