Port Elizabeth – Amakhala
Upon arrival at Port Elizabeth International Airport, you will be met for your road transfer to the Amakhala Game Reserve in the Eastern Cape where you spend three magical nights at the intimate HillsNek Safari Camp set on the banks of the Bushmans River. No more than four tented chalets means absolute tranquillity and personal attention for each guest.
HillsNek Safaris greatly contributes to wildlife protection and is dedicated to the conservation of the White rhino. Brent and Chantelle Cook, owners of HillsNek Safari Camp, along with their business partners, Paul & Debbie Naudé and Derek Cook, established the Chipembere Rhino Foundation in 2010 – a non-profit organisation which aims to conserve rhino and support anti-poaching efforts. For each person staying at HillsNek, a percentage is donated to the Chipembere Rhino Foundation, which means that every guest who visits is making a valuable contribution to saving our rhinos.

Day Two & Day Three
Enjoy two full days at HillsNek with two daily game drives on the Amakhala Game Reserve and fall in love with Africa’s creatures, big and small, especially the rhino. Amakhala – Port Elizabeth
After a morning game drive and breakfast, you will be transferred to the No5 Boutique Art Hotel in Port Elizabeth, where you check in for a night of total relaxation. Unwind in the Champagne Lounge, or book a soothing treatment at the HEALINGearth Retreat. Overnight at No5 Boutique Art Hotel. [B]
Port Elizabeth – Knysna
This morning you head down South Africa’s Garden Route on a Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris Guided Tour, where you sit back and relax knowing that you’re making a difference in supporting rhino conservation through The Rhino Ride. For each guest booked on a Springbok Atlas long distance tour, we will make a donation to one of the following rhino conservation charities: Chipembere Rhino Foundation, and The Next Generation Conservation Trust Namibia.
Head westwards along the Garden Route which follows the Indian Ocean coastline and is bordered inland by soaring mountain ranges and indigenous forests. Visit the spectacular Tsitsikamma National Park and Storms River Mouth (weather permitting). Arrive at your hotel in Knysna, known as the “oyster box” of South Africa, nestling on the banks of a beautiful lagoon in the heart of the Garden Route. The afternoon is at leisure to relax or explore the town. Overnight in Knysna at The Rex Hotel or similar. [BD]
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a lagoon cruise to the Featherbed Nature Reserve, where you can take a trailer ride to the top of the Western Head to enjoy panoramic views of the town and lagoon, returning for lunch under the milkwood trees. The afternoon is at leisure to further explore this charming town set around a natural harbour lagoon. Overnight in Knysna at The Rex Hotel or similar. [BL]
Knysna – Oudtshoorn
Travel through the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the “ostrich capital” and centre of the world’s ostrich farming industry. We visit an ostrich farm for a guided tour, before embarking on a tour of the spectacular limestone caverns of the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders, sculpted by nature through the ages. Travel to your hotel in the late afternoon in time to check in and relax before dinner (for own account).Overnight in Oudtshoorn at Hlangana Lodge or similar. [B]
Oudtshoorn – Constantia
Enjoy an early morning Meerkat Safari. Witness these incredible wild, habituated creatures emerging out of their burrows, in time to soak up the sun before they head about their daily activities (weather permitting). After this thrilling experience, head back for a delicious breakfast. After breakfast, the journey continues through the “Little Karoo” to Barrydale, where you will have the opportunity to visit a local farm school, interact with the children and teachers, spending time with them in the classroom learning more about the local farming community, before travelling to Montagu, a picturesque and historic spa town. (The school visit is subject to the school being open.) Continue to Stellenbosch, the second oldest city in South Africa, where you will disembark the tour and be transferred with a driver only to Cape Town, spectacularly set at the foot of Table Mountain.
Your Springbok Atlas Guided journey ends on arrival in Cape Town where you enjoy a two-night stay at the graceful The Last Word Constantia located in the leafy winelands suburb of Constantia about 25 minutes from the city centre. Overnight at The Last Word Constantia. [B]

Venture into the city to explore the beauty which lies at the foot of the iconic Table Mountain, discover the Cape of Good Hope, or savour the taste of South Africa at some of the country’s oldest wine farms, such as Groot Constantia.
