Day One - Departing Johannesburg

Transfer from Johannesburg to Mpumalanga via Machadodorp.

Day One

Enter the world famous Kruger National Park and spend the afternoon game viewing in a closed vehicle. Arrive at the camp for dinner and overnight. [D]

Day Two

Enjoy an early breakfast before you depart on a full day safari in a closed vehicle. Your guide will endeavour to spoil you with sightings of the Big 5, general game and prolifi c bird life. Stop at one of the rest camps for lunch (own account). Vegetation is mainly bushveld, varying from park-like grasslands to dense bush, especially in the rainy season. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight. [BD]

Day Three

Enjoy breakfast after which you’ll start the return journey to Johannesburg via Sabie and the Long Tom Pass. Lunch stop en route (own account). Arrive in Johannesburg in the early evening at approximately 18h30. [B]

Berg en Dal Rest Camp

Berg en Dal – which means ‘Mountain and Dale’ – is a new generation rest camp in the south-western corner of the Kruger National Park. It is set on the bank of Matjulu Spruit and a lush dam on the border of the camp attracts a wide variety of game.

Berg en Dal offers a variety of self-catering accommodation options available from campsites and bungalows to the more family friendly guest cottages and guest houses.

Facilities at the camp include perimeter walkways for game viewing on foot, a picturesque swimming pool area, a shop and a restaurant that overlooks the dam. Here, guests can relax in an air-conditioned atmosphere or sit outside on cooler evenings to enjoy the stars and night sounds of the African bush.

The area surrounding the camp is rich with game including white rhino, kudu, giraffe, elephant, warthog, leopard and wild dog. Lion are usually found on the roads to Skukuza and Crocodile Bridge. Bird lovers will be thrilled by the wide variety of species found here including the Scarlet-chested Sunbird and Heuglin's Robin.
