Your Cape Discovery begins in Cape Town. This multicultural city is a healthy mix of urban and convenient living, nature, azure ocean and white sandy beaches, relaxation and trending hotspots. You will spend four days here before you head to Paarl in the Cape Winelands for an introduction into wine and the finer things in life. Continue on to Oudsthoorn, South Africa’s ostrich capital, and then on to Knysna where outdoor features such as rivers, beaches, mountains and lakes orbit around this Garden Route town. Then you head to Pumba Private Game Reserve for an authentic and malaria-free safari experience. Your Cape Discovery ends in Port Elizabeth at a chic beach hotel.

Day One - Arrive in Cape Town
Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport you will be met by an English speaking Springbok Atlas Tours & Safaris representative who will hand over your travel documents. From there you will be transferred to your Cape Town accommodation for a four night stay in the Mother City. Cape Town is addictive and inspires discovery. It has also been voted as the best place to visit by the prestigious New York Times.
Your nights will be spent at the iconic Winchester Mansions. The hotel sits opposite the Sea Point Promenade, where locals comes to work out, watch the sunset or simply feel the ocean spray on their faces. The hotel is an example of original Cape Dutch architecture and has a distinct air of elegance and refinement. Harvey’s, a bistro by day and a restaurant by night, serves European dishes and is one of the rare places in Cape Town where you can sit in style and watch the Atlantic Ocean and its famed sunsets. The Winchester Mansions Sunday Jazz Brunch is legendary and features renowned and local talent. For the ultimate in pampering, there is a Gingko Health & Spa.
Day Two, Day Three & Day Four
After breakfast, you will enjoy a Cape Peninsula Tour.
Your tour begins by heading towards Cape Point, this scenic drive will take you to the southern western tip of the Cape Peninsula. Meander along the Atlantic coast, passing Camps Bay and the Twelve Apostles mountain outcrops. Once in the bohemian fishing village of Hout Bay, you can take an optional boat trip to Duiker Island (for your own account and time permitting) to see the Cape Fur Seals. The journey continues to the Cape Point Nature Reserve with its abundant flora and fauna and distinctive natural beauty. The drive continues along False Bay with a stop at historic Simons Town to visit the Penguin colony at Boulders Beach (for your own account) passing the villages of Fish Hoek and Muizenberg. A stop at Kirstenbosch, South Africa’s beloved botanical garden, is included before heading back to Cape Town.
After breakfast you are free to explore the Mother City at your leisure and the evening is reserved for the Rockwell Dinner Theatre.
Spend the day exploring the city and all it has to offer; from ascending Table Mountain to walking through the famous V&A Waterfront or being sun-kissed on various Blue Flag beaches. Your evening will then be filled with song, dance and good food; a truly unique Cape Town dining experience. The Rockwell Dinner Theatre is rich in heritage with an array of authentic Cape cuisine and entertainment. ‘Kaapse Stories from the Mother City’ is a vibrant story told by a family who lived in District Six and shares some of their experiences; all perfectly incorporated into a sumptuous four course dinner.
After breakfast, the day is at your leisure.

Day Five & Day Six
After breakfast, your car rental will be dropped off at your hotel before you set off on an approximate one hour drive to Paarl, part of the Cape Winelands. Paarl has a rich cultural and historical heritage and has some of the finest examples of Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Cape Dutch architecture.
You stay will be at the Cascade Country Manor. Known for its superlative service the properly boasts an extensive range of luxury amenities including a spa and azure swimming pool. Surrounding the Manor House are olive groves that produce the fantastic oils the estate is renowned for and you can truly look forward to meals here, the menu features traditional favourites made from locally sourced and fresh ingredients.
After breakfast, take this day at your own pace. Relax in the comfort of the manor’s spa with a beautiful treatment, take a stroll to the waterfall on the estate, swim in the indoor heated pool or simply unwind in the sauna and steam room. Alternatively, take a drive through the historic town of Paarl and visit some world-class wine farms such as Fairview and the Spice Route.
After breakfast, you will depart for Oudsthoorn, the ‘Ostrich Capital’ of the world and the largest town in the Klein Karoo region, a semi-desert place with a reputation for its inspiring natural splendour.
Your stay will be at the La Plume Guest House. It is a working ostrich, alfalfa and cattle farm that has beautiful views of the Swartberg Mountains. The guest house itself is a charming 1902 Victorian homestead that exudes old world elegance and grace. The owner of La Plume Guest House has poured her passion and creativity into the decor and it is evident in the stunning antiques that are dotted throughout.
Paarl has a rich cultural and historical heritage and has some of the finest examples of Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Cape Dutch architecture.
Day Eight & Day Nine
After breakfast, your journey continues to Knysna. The forest town of Knysna grew around its large, warm-watered lagoon and this town is found along the celebrated Garden Route.
Your stay will be at Belvidere Manor. It is arguably one of South Africa’s most beloved and romantic getaways. Belvidere Manor not only offers pristine surroundings but also good food and joviality at either Caroline’s Bistro or the Bell Tavern.
After breakfast, the day is spent at your leisure. Explore Knysna which is a hub of activity and offers everything from horse riding and hiking to fishing, abseiling and paragliding. For something more scenic and relaxing, the town’s waterfront is well known for its superb oysters and lagoon cruises to enjoy the views from the Knysna Heads.
Day Ten & Day Eleven
After breakfast, you will continue on to a malaria-free safari destination, the Pumba Private Game Reserve. Set amongst grassland, fynbos, forest and savanna landscapes, the reserve is a mecca for wildlife and nature lovers. There are nearly sixty different species of mammal roaming the landscape here including the Big 5 and a highlight, the rare white lion. This is a destination for a quality safari experience and includes access to the mini-gym, archery lessons, bass fishing, the Soul spa and guided walking safaris.
After breakfast, you will spend the day exploring the bushveld with two daily game drives and relax in the lodge set amongst the dense veld, overlooking Lake Cariega.
Day Twelve & Day Thirteen
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, you will depart for Port Elizabeth.
You will spend your last evening at the Beach hotel. A chic and contemporary beachfront hotel that has direct beach access to some famous beaches including Hobie Beach and Humewood Beach.
After breakfast, you will drop your rental vehicle at Port Elizabeth Airport before continuing on with your onward travel arrangements.
