Day Two, Day Three & Day Four

Cape Town
Explore Cape Town and its surrounds at leisure! On a visit to Cape Town’s City Centre, the history and multi-culture of Cape Town come to life. See St. George’s Cathedral, the oldest cathedral in Southern Africa, built out of sandstone from Table Mountain; take a trip to the District Six Museum, where you will learn about the forced removal of around 60 000 inhabitants from the area during Apartheid times; and experience the Bo-Kaap, a colourful neighbourhood, previously known as the Malay Quarter. Also, don’t forget South Africa’s oldest building, the Castle of Good Hope; the Company Gardens, a welcome green oasis in the middle of the city; and Greenmarket Square, one of the city’s oldest and best-loved markets! The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront—a proud icon of Cape Town—shows off Cape Town’s vibrant waterfront where seals frolic and boat cruises are enjoyed in sparkling seas, finished off with a myriad of shopping, eating and entertainment opportunities, including the impressive Two Oceans Aquarium.

Day Five

Cape Town – Johannesburg
Fly to Johannesburg —the economic powerhouse of South Africa. Situated in the northern suburb of Fourways in Johannesburg, Southern Sun Montecasino Hotel offers its guests great service and amenities, as well as access to a dazzling world of exploration, entertainment and indulgence. The adjacent Montecasino Gaming and Entertainment Complex—an entire precinct modelled on the romance and charm of old Italy—boasts one of Johannesburg’s premier casinos as well as an array of shops, restaurants, theatres and speciality stores. Overnight at Southern Sun Montecasino. [B]

Day Six

Johannesburg
For this day we recommend Springbok Atlas Tours and Safaris’ Amandla Theatrical Tour where you will have the chance of travelling along the footpaths of South Africa’s freedom fighters and experiencing the city of Johannesburg and Soweto through their eyes on this full day tour. Highlights include the Regina Mundi Church, Soweto Cooling Towers, Vilikazi Street, Freedom Square, Hector Pieterson Memorial, Nelson Mandela Bridge and Constitution Hill. (This Guided Tour is at an additional charge and should be pre-booked.) Overnight at Southern Sun Montecasino. [B]

Day Seven

Johannesburg – Hazyview
A transfer from your hotel will bring you to O.R. Tambo International Airport for your onward flight to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport in Nelspruit from where you will be transferred to the small but popular town of Hazyview. Situated in the Mpumalanga province and functioning as a gateway town to the Kruger National Park, Hazyview gets its name from the shimmering haze that sets over the landscape during the hot summer months. This town is within a short driving distance from three entry gates into the Kruger National Park and developed as a result of this convenient proximity. Today, Hazyview is also known for its thriving banana industry. Hazyview has some rather good facilities geared towards the travellers who use the town as a base for their safari and the atmosphere is quite electric with the anticipation of a safari nearby.

Sabi River Sun Resort offers comfortable accommodation with easy access to the safari opportunities of the Kruger National Park. Overnight at Sabi River Sun. [DB]

Day Eight & Day Nine

Hazyview
Two days of exploring the wildlife of the Kruger National Park and the breathtaking Panorama Route. Choose to either participate in two Full Day Kruger Park Open Vehicle Safaris or one day Kruger Park and one day Panorama Tour. Day Ten

Hazyview – Nelspruit – Johannesburg
