More property updates we have received recently.
Airlink (Southern Africa) has announced the following important updates:
- As of 04 June 2018, Airlink will enhance its Cape Town to Maun service, and on 02 July 2018, its Cape Town to Victoria Falls service. This will be done by utilising the 83-seater AvroRJ regional jet aircraft, including business class.
- Airlink has suspended all of its Pretoria to Cape Town services since 08 May 2018 due to a lack of route development.
- Airlink’s E-Jet services between Johannesburg-Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg-Kasane (Botswana) will now offer an intra-continental style business-class service.
Swellendam Lodge (Swellendam, South Africa) will be closed for its winter break from 24 May 2018 and is scheduled to re-open on 09 July 2018.
The Potting Shed (Hermanus, South Africa) will be closed for its annual shutdown as of 16 May 2018 and is scheduled to re-open on 13 June 2018.
Tuningi Safari Lodge (Madikwe Game Reserve, South Africa) has added a photographic hide to its property.
Reminder: Ghost Mountain Inn (Zululand, South Africa) underwent a construction in 2017, adding 22 new rooms. These spacious new rooms have been categorised as Mountain View Rooms, 1 of which is wheelchair-friendly.
Amakhala Bush Lodge (Amakhala Game Reserve, South Africa) will be closed for upgrades and refurbishments from 01 June 2018 and is scheduled to re-open on 01 August 2018. The lodge no longer offers guided bush walks.
Little Makalolo Camp (Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe) is currently closed for an extensive refurbishment and is scheduled to re-open in early June 2018.
Singita Pamushana Lodge (Malilangwe Wildlife Reserve, Zimbabwe) has just re-opened after an extensive transformation and renovation.
Reminder: The Old Drift Lodge (Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe) is officially open. It is a new luxury tented lodge on the banks of the Zambezi River, a few kilometres from the town of Victoria Falls. It offers 10 Double Tented Suites as well as 4 Family Suites.
Update: AM Weinberg Boutique Hotel (Windhoek, Namibia) is currently being built and the opening date is scheduled for 01 October 2018.
Kunene River Lodge (Ruacana, Namibia) has re-opened on 02 May 2018 and is operating as normal, after it closed following extensive flooding across the Kunene River. The roads from Ruacana and Opuwo are suitable for high-clearance 4×4 vehicles but it is advisable to drive more slowly over the next 1 or 2 weeks.
