Additional Property Updates


More property updates we have received recently.

Important note: The North West Parks & Tourism Board’s guest safety regulations pertaining to walking safaris in Madikwe Game Reserve (North West Province, South Africa) state that guests over the age of 60 years are required to produce a medical certificate (written Doctor’s Bill of Health) from their physician to show that they are fit for such an activity. This is a decision made by the North West Parks & Tourism Board and is in place in all Madikwe camps.

The Cape Cycling Tour (Cape Town, South Africa) will take place on 11 March 2018 and road closures can be expected. We will communicate more information regarding this closer to the time.

The name of the Strand Tower Hotel (Cape Town, South Africa) has been changed to Holiday Inn Cape Town. All terms and conditions remain unchanged.

La Fontaine Guesthouse (Franschhoek, South Africa) will be closed for renovations from 21 May 2018 and is scheduled to re-open on 14 October 2018.

Grand Dedale Country House (Wellington, South Africa) closes annually between 03 June 2018 – 06 July 2018, and 02 June 2019 – 05 July 2019.

The Windsor Hotel (Hermanus, South Africa) will undergo a renovation. 5 rooms in the main building are being renovated from 16 January 2018 and are scheduled to re-open in mid-February 2018. The first floor will be renovated from 01 May 2018 and is scheduled to re-open on 31 August 2018. The first floor will be closed off during the renovation period, with intermittent noise between 10h00 and 16h00 during the first few weeks of May.

Oase Garni Guest House (Kamanjab, Namibia) has changed its name to Melissa’s Guest House.

Ameib Gästehaus (Erongo Mountains, Namibia) has not re-opened on 15 January 2018 as scheduled. Any further updates on this will be communicated.

Mokuti Etosha Lodge (Etosha National Park, Namibia) has started renovations on certain parts of the property, and these are expected to be completed by the end of April 2018. After the renovations, the total room count will increase by 8 rooms. Every effort will be made to cause as little inconvenience as possible during the renovations.

Reminder: Lion Sands River Lodge (Sabi Sand Game Reserve, South Africa) is scheduled to re-open on 01 May 2018.
